School Closed for the 19-20 School Year/Packet Pick Up Monday, April 13th

Due to the announcement that PA schools will be closed for the remainder of the school year, the district will be issuing the second round of Academic Packets on Monday, April 13th. Pick up at Rayne will be in the front circle. Pick up at the High School will be in front of the Gymnasium Entrance. McCreery pick up will be moved down near the playground circle due to the predicted rain and wind that is in the forecast. If you indicated that you need packets, rather than online instruction, please pick them up between 8AM - 11AM. If you cannot make it at that time, extra packets for all buildings will be placed in the HS Auditorium entrance for pick up at your convenience.

Kindergarten and Pre-K Registration

If you have not enrolled your child for the 2020-2021 Kindergarten and Pre K classes, registration packets will be available for pick up at the Rayne Elementary School on Monday, May 18, 2020 from 12-1PM. Please complete the packets and return on or before Friday, June 5, 2020. Governor Wolf/PDE Extends School Closure through April 6th.

Update March 23, 2020: The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) announced today that "all schools in the commonwealth will remain closed through at least April 6 as a result of the COVID-19 response efforts. The closure order could be extended beyond April 6 if necessary to save lives and stop the spread of COVID-19. When it’s determined that students can return to school, administrators, teachers and other staff will be given two days to prepare classrooms, set up cafeterias, schedule transportation and arrange other business operations. PDE Cancels ALL State Assessments

The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) announced today the cancellation of all PSSA testing and Keystone exams for the 2019-20 school year as a result of COVID-19. This includes the Pennsylvania Alternate System of Assessment (PASA).

Communication Updates

The MCASD has been working over the past several days to get as much information regarding the current school closure added to our website. Please visit our website and click on COVID-19 Closure for the most current information. We also enabled a Free APP for iOS and Android phones in order to keep parents as updated as possible. Please visit the App Store or Google Play and download “School News by Edlio”. Then, search for Marion Center Area School District. You can find these directions on the Website under the COVID-19 tab.

Also, a reminder that orders for meal pickup for Monday are due by noon Thursday, if possible. Call Ext. 5408.

Updated Info. on Mandated School Closure and FREE Meal Program

Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, all classes and activities at Marion Center Area School District will be cancelled through Friday, March 27. This includes all PreK-12 extracurricular activities and community service programs. Schools are closed for all educational staff and students. During this time, the District will be providing FREE lunches for children ages 1 -18.
