Student Benchmark & Diagnostic Assessments
Our district uses a variety of benchmark and diagnostic assessments throughout the school year to monitor student growth, identify individual strengths and needs, and guide instructional decisions. Assessment results help teachers provide targeted instruction and intervention to support student success.
Using Assessment Data to Support Students
Teachers and instructional teams review assessment data throughout the school year to monitor student growth, adjust instruction, determine appropriate supports and interventions, and ensure students receive instruction that meets their individual learning needs.
Acadience ELA
Administered: Three Times Per Year – Beginning, Middle & End of Year
Acadience ELA is a benchmark assessment used to measure the development of essential early literacy and reading skills. Results help teachers identify students who are meeting grade-level expectations as well as students who may benefit from additional instructional support or intervention.
Acadience Math
Administered: Three Times Per Year – Beginning, Middle & End of Year
Acadience Math is a benchmark assessment used to measure the development of essential mathematics skills. The assessment provides teachers with information about student performance and growth and helps identify areas where additional instruction or intervention may be needed.
PAST – Phonological Awareness Screening Test
Administered: Four Times Per Year
The PAST (Phonological Awareness Screening Test) provides information about students’ development of phonological awareness skills, which are foundational to learning to read. Results help teachers identify specific skill needs and plan targeted instruction and intervention.
Bookworms IDI – Individual Diagnostic Inventory
The Bookworms Individual Diagnostic Inventory (IDI) is a diagnostic literacy assessment used to gather more detailed information about an individual student’s reading skills. The IDI helps teachers pinpoint specific strengths and areas of need so instruction and intervention can be tailored to the student.
SRSS-IE – Student Risk Screening Scale–Internalizing and Externalizing
The SRSS-IE (Student Risk Screening Scale–Internalizing and Externalizing) is a universal screening tool used to help schools identify students who may benefit from additional social, emotional, or behavioral support. The screening considers both externalizing behaviors, such as difficulty following expectations or managing behavior, and internalizing behaviors, such as withdrawal, sadness, or anxiety that may be less noticeable in the classroom. Information from the SRSS-IE is used as one part of our schoolwide support system to help staff proactively identify student needs, plan appropriate supports, and monitor the effectiveness of social-emotional and behavioral interventions. The SRSS-IE is a screening tool and is not used to diagnose a student.
