What Is PreK Counts?
PreK Counts is a program designed for four-year olds where students are introduced to school in an age-appropriate manner.  This grant funded program uses the Big Day for PreK Curriculum, specially designed for early learners, encouraging them to explore and connect to the world around them. 
 
Each student will develop:
  1. Self-esteem, curiosity and independance
  2. An interest in learning
  3. Large and small muscle development
  4. Appropriate behavior patterns
  5. Meaningful spoken and written language
  6. Social skills, including cooperation and self-motivation
  7. An interest in the world around him/her
  8. Problem solving and thinking skills
  9. Phonological awareness
  10. Pre-reading and math skills
What does PreK Counts look like at Marion Center?
PreK Counts is a full-day program at both Rayne and McCreery Elementary Schools.  Transportation is provided and breakfast/lunch are free for all students.  Students must be four by September 1st to be eligible.  Applications are accepted at any time and are available by calling Taylor at 724 397-5551, x1010.
 
When is registration for the 2024-2025 Academic Year?  
On March 25, the district will be hosting a registration event at Rayne Elementary School from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  Below are the PreK Counts income guidelines being used for eligibility in 2024-2025.
